I’ve read alot of reviews on the DiNovo Mini but none really pertained to OSX because of its unsupportedness from Logitech. I did find alot of people who said it worked so I decided to buy it anyway. I have a 2.0 C2D MacBook hooked up to my 60″ Sony KDSR60XBR1 Television. This is the main reason I wanted to get this mostly for casual browsing and for Plex navigation. My final verdect, IT WORKS AWESOME! Was simple to pair via bluetooth, click to discover devices, hit the big red connect on the bottom of the DiNovo Mini enter in some numbers, and we’re paired! The Keyboard Setup Assistant comes up asking you to choose keys and now you’re ready! Click to read the rest!!
As you can see to the left all the keys map fine to most OSX functions, the volume keys work, the nice OSX OSD comes up to raise, lower and mute. The other specialty keys work as well, play/pause and the track selection worked without issue.
I really enjoyed the mouse and it almost works like an iPod wheel, you sweep to move the mouse around and as you play with it more it gets easier, there is a click when you push on the pad or you can use the OK button on the opposite side as a left click. The FN buttons don’t all work, the only one that does was the FN+power which brought up the usually shut down/restart/suspend box. All in all this is an awesome keyboard for an HTPC environment. Blackberry users will love it because they are used to the “Thumb” typing and can do it rather quickly. I wouldn’t compose a novel with it but for quick casual browsing or instant messaging it’s awesome and fits in the living room with almost zero footprint.
