Eventually being so super secretive will hurt Apple. With all the iPhone rumors running rampant its getting to the point where people fear buying any Apple product because they are going to update it tomorrow or the next day. It seems like every day there is a new post on a price drop or another reason not to get an iPhone. Hell yesterday I ordered a 16GB iPhone (after going to both local Orlando Mac Store only to be told they are sold out) but these rumors got to me as I am sure they got to many others. So while my iPhone is still on its way to me, I’ve already have the return label ready to send it back(also sucks you can’t return apple.com purchases at apple stores). Its a constant battle with yourself to know if you’ve gotten the latest and greatest of if you’ve just wasted $500. At this point I am not considered an “early adopter” like the original iPhone purchasers were so if they dropped the price again would it even matter, would I get a refund/gift card? Everyone is confused, hell when forbes starts to quote TUAW you know something is up. Apple needs to be a little less secretive now that there are alot more eyes on what they are doing.
